Job description

Billhop is hiring! This role is for Billhop’s UK entity. We are looking for a collaborative Operations & Reconciliations Associateto support day-to-day operations while driving operational excellence within our group.

Please note: Although the role is fully remote, you must be based in the UK and have the right to work in the UK. We do not offer sponsorship.

About Billhop

We are a people-centric fintech company offering a dynamic, high-performance environment where collaboration, ownership, and trust are at the core of everything we do.

We take pride in our diverse and talented team, committed to developing our pioneering card-to-account solution. We continuously challenge one another to innovate and push the boundaries of technology. Together, we are dedicated to delivering a cutting-edge product to the market, ensuring our clients benefit from seamless payments on a global scale.

Through our unorthodox buyer funded approach we bridge the card acceptance gap that the B2B space faces, enabling the financial fluidity that businesses gain by optimising cash flow through card payments.

You will be aware about the importance of client funds segregation, safeguarding and the importance of such tasks in a regulated entity.

While working closely with the operations team in Sweden, your primary responsibility will be on UK operations and activities. Since the UK entity is in the early stages of an ambitious scale-up journey, you will have a unique opportunity to operate in a broad role, covering not only financial planning and controlling processes, but also critical operational activities.

  • Transaction monitoring of client payments, including screening against sanctions lists.
  • Daily processing of all UK client payments, and associated fund transfers.
  • Client service activities, including client contact and support for all UK clients.
  • Client onboarding, including KYB requirements.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of safeguarding and governance as per FCA and Payment Services Regulations 2017.
  • Manage and prioritise own workload effectively with competing requirements.
  • Adherence to robust compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and year end statutory financial accounts.
  • Preparation of Management Information (MI).
  • Support finance and operations related product implementation which involves cross-collaboration with internal (e.g. product managers, developers) as well as external stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
  • 2-5 years of experience in a Financial Services or Banking environment and/or within the Payments industry.
  • Knowledge of the importance of FCA and Safeguarding.
  • Specific prior experience in a reconciliation and/or finance role is required.
  • Customer Service and Operations experience, particularly in fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel.
  • Attention to detail and adherence to deadlines.
  • Strong ability to collaborate efficiently across teams.
  • Investigative, curious personality, with a “can do” attitude.
Our Benefits
  • A diverse and collaborative work culture
  • Competitive salary package
  • Generous annual leave: 30 days + UK public holidays
  • Private healthcare coverage
  • Fully remote work model
  • Personalised skill development fund
  • Pension plan
