Website and E-Commerce Developer | Borough Green, Kent TN15 8JL

Full Time – Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm | £35,000 - £40,000 per annum

Our client has been supplying their branded vehicle security and vehicle safety systems to specialist auto-electrical installation companies since 1993. They are looking for an enthusiastic person who has a good basic sense of initiative and design capabilities in website design and development and is not afraid of taking on new challenges and learning new skills where required.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for updating the existing website and then developing a new online store, ensuring a seamless user experience and efficient e-commerce functionality. You will need to be an all-rounder who is prepared to come into the office and work Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00, gaining a full understanding of and becoming an integral part of the business in helping present the company as effectively as possible on the internet with a quick, intuitive performance, being able to optimise the website security, and overall functionality.

Are you the right person for the job?

1. Proven experience as a web designer and E-Commerce Developer with a portfolio of past projects
2. Proficiency in HTML, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL
3. Experience with designing an e-commerce online shop
4. Strong understanding of SEO principles and performance optimisation
5. Experience with API integrations (e.g., payment gateways)
6. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly
7. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
8. Excellent communication and teamwork skills

What will your role look like?

1. Update our existing website
2. Develop and maintain a new e-commerce website
3. Optimise website performance, security, and scalability
4. Implement responsive and mobile-friendly designs
5. Possibly integrate third-party APIs, e.g., payment gateway
6. Customise themes, plugins, and modules to enhance functionality
7. Troubleshoot and resolve website issues, ensuring minimal downtime
8. Work closely with the marketing team to improve SEO, conversion rates, and user experience
9. Ensure website security, data protection, and compliance with industry standards
10. Monitor site analytics and suggest improvements based on data insights
11. Keep up with emerging trends and technologies in e-commerce development
