People Business Partner – 12 Month Fixed Term Contract
Locations:
Salford Quays M50 3SP, Kirkstall Forge, Leeds LS5 3BF or Staines
Full-time position: 37.5 hours
Salary Range: From £41,700

About the Role
The role of the People Business Partner is to lead on small to medium-sized people-related initiatives or change programmes linked to the people strategy for the business. This role spans across both Insurance & Functions. This role offers a fantastic entry point into people partnering, where you will be responsible for delivering impactful people initiatives. Examples include: supporting managers to improve their engagement scores, implementing structural changes, listening activity to identify improvements, using people data to gather insights. Your focus will be on embedding people strategies and agendas aligned with broader objectives and working on colleague engagement at a foundational level. This role provides a real opportunity to make a difference working closely with line managers to ensure our people #LoveWorkingHere.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement people activities aligned to the plan in conjunction with the Heads of People or Senior Business Partners.
  • Understand relevant customer and regulatory people metrics and data, diagnose root causes of underperformance, and identify opportunities to accelerate performance.
  • Undertake diagnostics and solve business issues with relevant people solutions and interventions.
  • Adapt assigned processes, frameworks, and toolkits for the needs of the UK Insurance business.
  • Consider costs and efficiencies when proposing project solutions and interventions.
  • Work on both projects and cyclical people activities, such as pulse engagement, performance conversations, and annual pay review.
  • Use standard project management tools and methodologies, undertake lessons learned exercises, and improve project management techniques.
  • Provide data and metrics on the progress of projects, initiatives, and interventions.
  • Assess and mitigate risks ahead of project launches and escalate concerns appropriately.
  • Ensure robust engagement plans and create key communication messages in collaboration with internal communications.
  • Seek continuous improvement after every project implementation and improve techniques and skills accordingly.
  • Seek support and expertise from central People resources to improve outcomes of solutions and interventions.
  • Provide input to the Heads of People across People and Functions when looking at overall strategy.

Key Experience and Skills You Will Bring

  • Leading and embedding HR projects that span large numbers of employees to agreed benefits.
  • Delivering in a matrix organisation.
  • Diagnosing business issues/root causes and developing proposals/solutions to address them.
  • Working with people managers and employees to encourage adoption of processes and ways of working.
  • Change management experience.
  • Experience in Financial Services/healthcare environments in a regulated setting (desirable).
  • CIPD qualified (desirable) or relevant experience.
  • Experience of business partnering in large multisite organisations with diverse demographics.
  • Strong track record and extensive experience leveraging all aspects of HR (e.g., recruitment, reward, engagement, talent, development) to improve business performance sustainably.
  • Experience partnering and influencing senior leaders and people managers to achieve business objectives and improve performance.
  • Evidence of building a strong reputation for personal excellence and delivery in previous roles.
