Area Sales Manager

Company: World-Class British Manufacturer of Mechanical Components

Products: Bespoke Seals, Gaskets, Components, Flow Control

Salary: £35,000 - £43,800 Basic (experience dependent), Outstanding OTE £61,320 + Company wide performance bonus 8%

Location: North of England (Home Based, can live anywhere)

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support key accounts in the North of England
  2. Prospect new industrial customers
  3. Work with the General Sales Manager to win sales throughout project-driven customers and OEM customers
  4. Spearhead emerging market growth and manage critical customers such as Rolls Royce, Schlumberger, GE, etc.
  5. Solution sell and develop the right product for the correct application in critical sectors

The Candidate:

  1. Open on industry sector; personality and sophistication are key
  2. Industrial technical sales professional
  3. Ideally have an engineering background – Mechanical mind preferred
  4. Strong strategic thinker with exceptional business development and key account management skills
  5. Able to develop new business opportunities with an eye for upselling/cross-selling
  6. Excellent communication skills, able to communicate and sell to a wide variety of levels
  7. Proven track record of business-to-business sales; experience in medium to long cycle selling is advantageous
  8. Mechanical Engineering background (degree, apprenticeship, or experience with mechanical components)
  9. Familiarity with products such as seals, gaskets, valves, pumps, and rotating equipment
  10. Product training will be provided
