Job description

CNC Machinists, Yeovil, £competitive (+overtime)

Overview

We're supporting several exciting and growing businesses in Yeovil and the surrounding areas that are on the hunt for a few CNC machinists. Skills we're looking for include both Millers and Turners of varying levels of skill.

The businesses we're supporting service several sectors including Oil & Gas, Aerospace, Defence and Medical. Offering modern and well-equipped workshops, these positions could suit either those looking to progress their careers or just feel like a change of scenery.

Offering

A range of shifts on offer including:

  1. 4 day working week (extended days)
  2. 5 day working week with highly flexible start and finish times (school run friendly!)
  3. Double days (rotating)

Role Requirements

Across the different positions, there are several different machines in use as well as a number of programming languages. We'd be keen to hear from individuals that are able to set machines up as a bare minimum, although we've several programming positions.

General daily duties of a CNC Machinist will include:

  1. Setting up and operating CNC machines and conducting tool changes
  2. Following machining processes to ensure components meet precise specifications
  3. Conducting self-inspections of finished parts using precision measuring equipment
  4. Collaborating with team members to optimise production and resolve technical issues
  5. Escalating machine malfunctions to minimise downtime
  6. Logging daily output targets and identifying issues with potential solutions
  7. Maintaining and improving 5S standards in the cell

Knowledge and Skills Required as a CNC Machinist:

  1. Prior experience as Setting & Operating CNC Machines in a manufacturing environment
  2. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions
  3. Proficiency in using precision measuring equipment
  4. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
