Vision Government Solutions is a leading government technology firm providing cutting-edge property tax and appraisal software to more than 500 Towns, Cities, and Counties across the United States. Vision is at an incredible inflection point of growth and has been rapidly adding clients to our community. We are looking for exceptional individuals to join our Software Implementation team to help welcome those new clients through successful data conversions from their legacy software to our modern, feature-rich Vision solution.

Summary of Role & Responsibilities

The Implementation Architect (Data Architect) is responsible for converting clients’ data from their legacy software solutions into the modern, feature-rich Vision software solution. This includes the traditional ETL approach; data mining and analysis, data mapping, scripting to convert the data, and validation/testing the results. The Implementation Architect position is a client facing role with a significant technical expectation, particularly in SQL; the ideal candidate has a balanced blend of soft skills and technical skills. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Converting client data from the legacy software to its appropriate home in Vision using SQL, then validating and testing the results.
2. Working closely with other team members and clients to understand business processes that are used in the client’s legacy software and ensuring that similar processes are achievable in Vision.
3. Completing “valuation” work, such that property values from the legacy software are calculating in a materially similar way in the Vision software. This can involve developing complex algorithms and mathematical analysis to calibrate property values.
4. Building reports, imports, and exports that allow clients to maximize the impact of their data.
5. Using our existing core tech stack and tools: Slack, Jira, BaseCamp, GitHub, SQL Server.

The ideal candidate in this role would:

1. Have very strong technical skills focused in SQL.
2. Have a passion for data and problem solving.
3. Be a strong communicator and collaborator in this client facing role.
4. Demonstrate a talent to bridge communications between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
5. Be comfortable operating within an Agile framework and process.
6. Have significant experience with one or more of the following:

• Data mapping and analysis.
• Converting complex software systems like ERP, Financial Packages, Payroll, Insurance, etc.
• Prior experience in a related role or property appraisal sector.

Job Type: Full Time, Remote – must be able to work during normal Eastern time zone business hours 8a-5p. Being remote means we stay engaged with each other all throughout the day and leverage webcams as a tool to build and strengthen team cohesion, while strengthening team bonds and improving communication.
