Transpennine Route Upgrade
The Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) is the largest Infrastructure project in the North delivering a 10.7 billion Programme of activities that is improving the railway between York and Manchester via Leeds and Huddersfield.
Stretching across the North of England, this key 76-mile Transpennine railway serves 23 stations, crosses over and dips under 285 bridges and viaducts, passes through six miles of tunnels, and crosses over 11 level crossings.
Proposed improvements will deliver a hard-working, reliable railway for passengers, allowing for trains with more seats, more services, and faster journey times.
Brief Description
You will be working in the West of Leeds Alliance where construction is in full swing along the whole of the TRU route between Huddersfield and Leeds.
Major buildings and civils highlights include the reconfiguration and reconstruction of the Grade 1 Listed Huddersfield Station, reconstruction of local stations to accommodate the quadrupling of the railway, a grade separated junction with flyover structure, and a 350m long multi-span four-track viaduct across the River Calder.
Supporting construction activities will be a key focus of your role, so experience in temporary works assurance is essential.
A collaborative working relationship with both the Construction and Design teams will be essential to deliver the project to cost, programme, and quality.
Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for an experienced and motivated civil engineer who can work collaboratively to achieve project delivery timescales and is happy to be co-located with delivery teams in Alliance offices at least 3 days per week giving the best opportunity for successful outcomes.
Working on the TRU West of Leeds Alliance provides an exciting opportunity to play a vital role on the largest infrastructure project on the railway in the North of England and help leave a lasting legacy for businesses and communities across the region.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience in the following areas to ensure compliance, safety, and effective project delivery:
