As a Business Analyst Consultant, you will be a key member of our Insurance Operations & Domain Solutions team, working alongside experienced consultants and gaining exposure to a diverse range of projects. You will have the opportunity to apply your existing industry knowledge and consultancy skills, while developing your expertise in insurance technology and transformation.
As part of the Insurance Operations & Domain Solutions team, you'll be working with a multitude of market leading teams from Deloitte to deliver value to our clients across the full delivery lifecycle starting from strategy and proposition definition to detailed operations and tech design, and being part of engineering and implementation teams to deliver for our clients. Connect to your opportunityAs a Business Analyst Consultant within Deloitte's Insurance practice, you will be responsible for bridging the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams on business-led technology transformation projects. You will work closely with clients to understand their business needs, translate those needs into detailed requirements, and ensure the delivered solution aligns with the desired outcomes.
Responsibilities:- Support the elicitation and documentation of business requirements through participation in workshops, interviews, and document analysis.
- Assist in the analysis and documentation of 'as-is' business processes and systems, contributing to the identification of areas for improvement and automation.
- Support the definition of 'to-be' business processes and system capabilities, working within established frameworks to ensure alignment with client objectives.
- Contribute to the development of functional specifications and user stories, working with senior team members to guide the development and testing of technology solutions.
- Assist in the creation of test cases and test scripts, and participate in testing activities to ensure the solution meets requirements.
- Collaborate with technical teams to communicate business requirements and support solution design and implementation.
- Support the development of training materials and assist with training sessions for end-users on new systems and processes.
- Contribute to the creation of client presentations and reports, working with senior team members to effectively communicate project findings and recommendations.
- Participate in business development activities, such as supporting proposal writing and client presentations, to gain exposure to practice growth initiatives.
- Actively engage in internal practice development initiatives, contributing to the team's growth and development.

Minimum Requirements:- Experience working as a Business Analyst in the insurance industry or a related field.
- Exposure to one or more of the following areas: General Insurance, London Markets, or Life & Pension.
- A foundational understanding of insurance business processes and systems.
- Experience in supporting the elicitation, analysis, and documentation of business requirements.
- Basic understanding of key insurance business processes within a specific Line of Business.
- Experience in assisting with the development of functional specifications and user stories.
- A demonstrable interest in emerging technology and trends in insurance and financial services.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint and Excel, with a developing ability to create presentations and analyse data.
- Understanding of risk awareness and mitigation principles within a professional setting.
Preferably you will also have:- Experience supporting (consulting) bids, e.g. responding to RFI/RFP, and developing industry relationships.
- Industry certifications such as Business Analysis certification (Foundation / Practitioner / Professional / Consultant) from British Computer Society, International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) (any certification), Project Management Institute (PMI) Professional in Business Analysis (PBA), among others or equivalent.
- Experience in implementing AI-driven solution within the general insurance lifecycle (e.g., claims automation, fraud detection, risk assessment, etc.) is highly desirable.
