Plant Operator

Job Title: Plant Operator
Location: Shropshire
Contract: Outside IR35

Our client is currently seeking skilled and experienced Plant Operators for a contract-based role in Oswestry. The primary responsibility will be the process monitoring of the new plant during the commissioning phase.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Monitor and assess the process operating parameters on a daily basis, including:
1. MLSS (Mixed Liquor Suspended Solids)
2. SSVI (Sludge Volume Index)
3. Final effluent analyses
4. Sludge thickener performance
5. Sludge and chemicals
2. Regularly monitor plant equipment, including:
1. Oxidation ditch (inducers, blowers, instruments)
2. Ferric and caustic chemical systems
3. Sludge thickeners
3. Maintain and monitor analysers, recalibrate instruments, and order reagents as required.
4. Adjust process parameters to ensure optimal performance.
5. Report directly to the Advance Plus process commissioning engineer.
6. Work closely with the commissioning team to ensure smooth project progression and completion.
7. Attend regular meetings to discuss progress, performance, and any related issues.
8. Complete daily logs and record all operational data.
9. Order necessary chemicals (ferric, caustic, poly, reagents, cuvettes for sampling analyses) and take deliveries.
10. Assist the team with shutdowns, access requirements, and other related tasks during the commissioning phase.

About The Candidate:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background as a skilled and experienced plant operator, with a comprehensive understanding of the day-to-day operational needs of a water treatment plant and the ability to respond to any issues that arise during the commissioning phase.
