Principal Bridge Engineer
Location: Remote (Must be prepared to travel)
Hours: Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hours/week)
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000

Overview:
As a Principal Engineer, you'll be a key player in our client's bridge engineering team. The team is relatively new and has ambitious growth planned. This is a great opportunity to join an exciting team, right at the start of their journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guide bridge engineering projects from initial concept to final completion with technical precision.
- Perform in-depth structural analysis and design for diverse bridge types, including concrete, steel, and composite.
- Prepare, review, and approve technical documentation, including plans, specifications, and estimates.
- Provide expert guidance to project managers and team members, ensuring project goals are met.
- Oversee engineering deliverables, ensuring they are completed on schedule and to high standards.
- Collaborate with clients, sub-consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure project alignment.
- Offer on-site expertise during the construction phase, ensuring adherence to design specifications.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, enhancing their skills and career development.
- Conduct workshops and training sessions to elevate team technical competence.
- Perform rigorous quality reviews, following BB-ENG-QC procedures to ensure deliverable accuracy.
- Implement strategies to enhance team performance and project efficiency.
- Stay abreast of the latest bridge engineering advancements through conferences and workshops.
Requirements:
- Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
- Ideally Chartered Engineer with the ICE or IStructE.
- At least 7 years of experience in bridge engineering design and construction.
- Expertise in structural analysis and design software (e.g., AEC RSA, MIDAS, IDEA StatiCa).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.
- Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and readiness to travel and work on-site as needed.
