Water Quality Manager
Location: Cross site between Huntington and Stamford

Working Days and Hours: 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday (on site each day), 8am to 4.30pm
Job Summary:
To implement and manage a range of operational systems, relating primarily with regard to water systems across the two sites: Huntington and Stamford. To ensure estates operational compliance with regard to appropriate standards (PAM, CQC, Legislation, HSE advice, HTM’s, ACOPs) and Trust Water Safety Group & Sub Group directives.
Responsibilities:
- To be a ‘Responsible Person’ in line with HTM’s for water systems and to ensure Authorising Engineers audits reviews and advice is acted upon.
- To monitor remedial work requirements emanating from reports and actively ensure timely completion.
- Collate estates operational backlog schedules.
- Monitor compliance with regard to Water systems using dedicated software systems and expedite any requirements to fulfil.
- Ascertain the position of compliance for water safety against agreed KPI’s and produce / present periodic reports indicating such, including cause / effect with recommendations to address any gaps.
- Audit, manage and maintain compliance with the Trusts Water Safety Plan.
- Monitor actions of in-house team and their function with regard to water safety compliance and PPM programmes in place.
- Manage, review and maintain all the actions relating Water Risk Assessments, sampling programs and the water system PPM activity as logged on Compass software system to ensure timely actions.
- Ensure all water safety related records are adequate and acted on as required.
- Facilitate and assist with Authorising Engineer (AE) audits and create/deliver action plans as required.
- Overall lead to ensure all water safety samples are monitored, recorded and results acted on in accordance with Water Safety Plans and Legislation. Ensuring water control measures are successful and analysing the results to establish the reactive maintenance requirements.
- Provide specialist advice on water safety solutions and lead on Water Safety Group approvals where applicable.
- Monitor records to ensure all assessments and routine periodic inspections are undertaken.
- Monitor PPM reports from FM software and Compass system, etc. to assure compliance and expedite any non-compliant exceptions.
- Manage the requirements for the 'minimisation and control of legionella and other water borne diseases' as responsible person (water) and the Management of Water Distribution systems e.g. monitoring contracts to carry out duties such as the disinfection of water tanks and systems.
- Monitor temperatures of domestic hot water and cold water supplies to site and all activities required by legislation and HTMs. HTM04.01/L8, etc.
- Assist Compliance Manager with Collation and reporting of ERIC/PAM data requirements in required formats.
- Liaise with members of the Estates Team where necessary to coordinate work completion.
- Establish and maintain contacts within the hospital, with contractors, suppliers and statutory bodies as required to provide high standards of estate care.
Essential Knowledge/Experience:
- Understanding of HTM’s, statutory and compliance requirements.
- Training/qualification in the Management of Water Systems to enable them to undertake the role of responsible person (Water) for the retained estate.
- Significant knowledge of drainage and water management systems in large commercial or public sector environment.
- Competent in written and oral communications and use of office software to review and create reports.
- Ability to fault-find on a range of building services and water systems.
- Able to maintain, direct and control a range of data and information relating to operation of the water management systems using dedicated software in line with compliance regulations and agreed Trust procedures.
- Ability to understand, manipulate and present data and information and provide judgements in own area of expertise.
- Ability to read and interpret Operation and Maintenance manuals and associated drawings.
Desirable Knowledge/Experience:
- Certificated training on building services plant and equipment.
- Legionella training course.
- HNC or equivalent, or relevant experience and knowledge.
- Understanding of Planet CAFM system and Compass water Management software.
