Permanent, Full-time position March 2025

From £25k per annum depending on role and experience

We are looking for bright inquisitive minds to join our growing team as Associate Management Consultant – Operations & Supply Chain Analyst. You may be new to the workplace or have several years' experience in Data analytics and/or Finance.

Our business is fast-paced and exceptionally demanding. We take on challenging commercial engagements where the goal is to identify and deliver value, ultimately increasing the customer’s profitability. Working closely with the procurement and finance team, the Analyst will work with large sets of data drawn from a variety of sectors e.g. retail, hospitality, education, healthcare, construction, and infrastructure. Some understanding of business commercial principles and Profit & Loss statements will be very helpful.

The key aspects of the position are:

  1. Analysis of customer data to identify areas of opportunity for profit improvement. Own the data and numbers for each category of spend, including:
    1. Ascertaining the current and likely future spend (a skill in its own right in fast-moving situations)
    2. Reviewing and verifying the cost of alternative options and the savings/differences that result
  2. Summarise concisely and provide feedback to the team on:
    1. Different supplier proposals – overall position, positives, negatives
    2. Specific areas to focus on/challenge in negotiations
  3. Work with suppliers and customers to obtain required information including existing contracts. Identify and verify opportunities for customers to unlock benefits by doing/controlling things differently.
  4. Ensure consistency of process in the way we go about all the above, creating templates and developing new ways of capturing information.
  5. Clearly communicate findings to senior stakeholders.

To excel in this position, you will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills and abilities:

  • Proactive and forward-thinking, ability to think through next steps and take accountability for delivery and decision-making
  • Ability to marry top-down (high-level) and bottom-up (granular) viewpoints
  • Have confidence in your own numbers and approach - be authoritative in areas of responsibility
  • Be highly inquisitive and perceptive – the ability to look for patterns in the data and refusal to accept unjustified disconnect from own "sense" of situation (sense check, sense check, sense check!)
  • Have a tenacious mindset - hunger to unlock valuable insight where others have not
  • Be obsessed with data and love providing insight!
