We have an outstanding new opportunity for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our Data, Platform Architecture and Engineering team. The team has a pivotal role in setting the technical direction of Virgin Media O2 data platforms, services and end to end delivery!

You'll be part of delivering our company wide Data strategy, and will use cutting edge technologies on Google Cloud and on-premises for designing, provisioning, monitoring and maintaining the infrastructure automation framework. This is a key role which focuses on building and maintaining the tooling and infrastructure used to automate the release, deployment and upgrade processes our workloads.

We're looking for someone who can see challenges from different perspectives and create and drive strategies and solutions that are technically sound, while also considering regulatory, commercial, and organisational aspects when appropriate.

The must haves

In order to be considered, you must have the following experience:

• Demonstrable and extensive experience in a Senior DevOps Engineer role within a complex organisation, showcasing in-depth knowledge of internal processes, systems, and culture.
• A solid background in developing, maintaining, and optimising CI/CD pipelines, ensuring these practices are standardised and secure preferably on Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, showcasing the ability to automate and manage infrastructure effectively. Strong experience in Python programming.
• Expertise in using DevOps tools like Jenkins, GitLab, and Nexus, highlighting the ability to lead the end-to-end release process efficiently.
• Managing and scaling Kubernetes clusters, along with strong hands-on experience in a wide range of Google Cloud services, is crucial for maintaining and optimising cloud-based infrastructure.

The other stuff we are looking for

We'd also love you to bring:

• Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience with containers and orchestration (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge in managing and monitoring network operations.
