Are you looking for a real architectural learning opportunity after your training? We are recruiting for a for a well-rounded Part 2 architectural assistant to join our vibrant award-winning RIBA chartered practice based 30 minutes from Glasgow and Stirling and working all over Scotland. We’re a successful and busy design-focussed group offering a comprehensive design service from concept through to completion, we work on building styles from traditional to contemporary, with conservation work, commercial buildings and Passivhaus projects on our books, too.

Our team is hard-working and creative. We work as a group and discuss project concepts and strategies openly in the office. You will experience and learn all aspects of a medium-sized practice from design through project management and project delivery. It’s a perfect environment to become an experienced and well-rounded architect, confident in the practice of delivering buildings. We use Revit BIM software, project management software and integrated office management software.

Your new role

The role offers the right person a chance to develop into a valuable and effective architect. You will work on all stages of projects from design presentations, building warrants, construction drawings and contract management. You will be given client facing opportunities to work with prestigious individual clients on bespoke projects for new and existing buildings, which are often historic and listed. You will work on many projects simultaneously and your experience will be broad ‘no two days are the same’ is a common comment about working at Thomas Robinson Architects.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • RIBA Part 1 experience is a prerequisite
  • Technical knowledge at RIBA Stage 4 (Building Warrant and Construction drawings) is advantageous
  • Previous experience of residential projects and historic buildings is advantageous
  • Good client interface and client management skills
  • Good written and communication skills
  • Adobe Suite and good graphic presentation skills
  • Flexibility to travel all over Scotland
  • Driver’s License
