Salary: NJC Scale PO4 - points 36 to 39 (£49638 to £52674 per annum)
Hours: Full-time
Year Round?: Yes
Permanent?: No - fixed term for one year in the first instance

Job Description:

The Senior Administration Officer (SAO) is responsible for managing the strategy and operation of the business functions of our school, including financial management, health and safety, human resources, compliance, data protection & management, and administration.

They will advise on and implement the day-to-day support that enables the school to operate effectively and efficiently, allowing other members of the leadership team to focus on teaching and learning.

We’re looking for an individual who can:

  • Contribute to the school’s vision and values, ensuring decisions align with them
  • Manage support staff, resource planning, recruitment, and development
  • Implement changes, allocate resources, and ensure effective communication.

The following qualities are essential:

  • Leadership and management experience in education or a relevant field, including line management of teams
  • Expertise in financial management, including budget oversight, financial reporting, procurement, and fixed assets
  • Experience with HR, health and safety, and staff development
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and influence
  • Knowledge of data protection, confidentiality, and school management systems (e.g., SIMS, Arbor)
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Strong numeracy, literacy, IT skills, and a focus on continuous improvement
  • Ability to support the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and manage tasks and responsibilities effectively
  • Willingness to constructively challenge practices, model appropriate behaviour, and resolve conflicts.
