About Us

Holiferm is facilitating the transition of the $42 billion surfactant market away from harmful, fossil fuel-based chemicals to biodegradable, sustainable biosurfactants. We are spearheading research and production into this innovative technology and, as such, are offering the opportunity to make an impact towards a more sustainable future. Our patented fermentation process with integrated gravity separation technology enables us to produce competitively priced biosurfactants at a commercial scale.

At Holiferm, you will have the platform to broaden your skills by working with field leaders within a dynamic, collaborative and inclusive working environment. Whether you are based in our research and development laboratory in Manchester or our commercial plant in Wallasey, you will have the freedom and autonomy to drive innovation and change.

Our mission is to eliminate the need for petrochemicals in the production process and provide our customers with 100% biobased formulations.

  • Operating a variety of production equipment, including up to 60,000L capacity vessels, valves, and pumps.
  • Performing and monitoring fermentation and downstream processing reactions.
  • Collaborating with the QC team for analytical testing to ensure product quality and yield.
  • Working with process development, other production staff, and the supply chain manager for raw material supply to ensure product properties align with various applications and industries, first from the pilot and then from the commercial plant.
Role Requirements

The successful Plant Operator will have:

  • Experience operating pilot plant/production scale equipment (pumps, valves, vessels, etc.), preferably in the biotechnology industry.
  • Familiarity with microorganisms, aseptic techniques, and inoculation techniques (desirable).
  • Experience with fermentation process development and interpretation of fermentation data.
  • The ability to take responsibility for your projects and demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively communicate with colleagues at all levels.
