A leading privately owned civils contractor based on the south coast is seeking a Trainee Health & Safety Advisor to join their business. The Trainee Health & Safety Advisor will play a key part in the development and future of the business.

About the role of Trainee Health & Safety Advisor

This regional contractor traditionally specializes in ground works & earthworks for large developers, packages valuing up to £5M across Hampshire, Dorset, Sussex, and Surrey for framework clients. The role of Trainee Health & Safety Advisor will report directly to the Health & Safety Manager, with a clear progression plan and development strategy in place.

Responsibilities for Trainee Health & Safety Advisor

1. Regular client liaison
2. Conducting on-site audits and inspections
3. Preparation of risk assessments and method statements where appropriate for the project teams
4. Keeping up to date with the latest HSQE requirements including legislation and best practice

Requirements for Trainee Health & Safety Advisor

1. Previous experience within the construction industry is desired but not essential
2. Relevant qualification including either NEBOSH or IOSH
3. Strong communication skills and attention to detail
4. Drive and determination for progression and learning
