Early Years Practitioner P/T

Location: Finsbury Park, London

Nursery: Bright Horizons Finsbury Park Day Nursery and Preschool

Salary: Starting from £27,231.95 per annum (Full-time equivalent - Pro-rata) (dependent on qualification/s and experience)

We are looking for a part-time Level 2/3 qualified Practitioner to join the 'Under 2's' room at our Finsbury Park nursery, which is situated in the heart of Finsbury Park close to local shops and amenities. The nursery offers excellent links to rail, tube and bus stations. The nearest rail and tube stations to the nursery are Finsbury Park underground station (10 minute walk), Finsbury Park Railway station (9 minute walk) and Crouch Hill Rail station (9 minute walk). We have buses 210, W3 and W7 that are close to the nursery.

We have various P/T roles available:

  • 20 hrs (Tues/Wed - 10 hrs per day - Baby room 3-16 months)

  • 20 hrs (Tues/Fri - 10 hrs per day - Baby room 12-24 months)

  • 35 hrs (Mon/Wed/Thurs/Fri - 8am-6pm - Toddlers 18-30 months)

  • 27 hrs (Tues/Wed/Thurs - 8am-6pm - Preschool)

  • 20 hrs (Mon/Fri - 8am-6pm - Preschool)

What you’ll be doing:

  • Plan, create, implement and reflect on engaging activities, tailored to each of your key children, to encourage their development towards key milestones.

  • Develop and maintain strong parent/carer partnerships

  • Promote and ensure child welfare, protection, health and safety, and safeguarding

  • Work with colleagues to maintain a positive, happy, and safe environment

What we’re looking for:

  • Full and Relevant Level 2/3 or above Early Years qualification (essential)

  • Previous experience working with children (ideally as a Nursery Nurse, Nursery Practitioner, Early Years Educator, or similar)

  • Passion for making learning fun and engaging for each child

  • Ability to build trust and strong working relationships with both colleagues and parents

  • Ability to use a variety of communication techniques with both children and adults

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and the wider legislative requirements for working with children
