Our client has a fantastic opportunity for a HGV Recovery Driver, assisting in the efficient operation of the M25 Network at the Dartford Crossing.
Responsibilities:
Ensure that the Vehicle Recovery routine vehicle checks and drivers hours books are completed and submitted in accordance with company procedures.
Liaise and undertake hand-overs with other Shift Team Leaders to deliver a consistent service across all teams.
Support with other duties within your competency as requested by the Shift Manager.
Provide Recovery response and arrange specialist advice at the scene of road-related incidents, hazards, and collisions.
Attend incidents and work safely in accordance with agreed CPS policies, method statements, and risk assessments to facilitate the prompt clear-up of stricken vehicles.
Undertake activities to ensure your area of responsibility is maintained, including but not limited to:
Debris and safety patrols/inspections
Graffiti removal
Carriageway repairs
Soft estate maintenance (e.g., grass)
Implement Heavy and light vehicle recovery in line with CPS policies, method statements, and risk assessments.
Undertake routine vehicle and equipment checks, maintain accurate and up-to-date driving records in line with legislation in accordance with CPS procedures.
Take due care of any CPS property including but not limited to tablets, vehicles, and airwave radios.
Raise awareness of issues which may affect the safe operation of the network and report these as observed.
Check that equipment and materials carried on vehicles in line with current recovery vehicle checklists are serviceable and in good working order, restock, record, and report defects as appropriate.
Participate in Winter Service rota as required.
Support the delivery of CSUK's Sustainability activities.
Working arrangements:
Expected to work the shift pattern (days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays) to meet operational requirements.
Shift pattern is 4 shifts on, 4 shifts off, to include weekends and bank holidays.
Reasonable level of travel around M25 network and between depots.
Qualifications (Essential):
UK Driving Licence, minimum category C+E (LGV Class 1).
IVR 1, 2, and 3.
Driver Qualification Card.
CSCS Operative Card.
Appropriate manual handling qualification.
Appropriate lifting qualification.
Experience:
Recovering heavy and light vehicles on a live motorway or All Purpose Trunk Road (APTR) network.
Proficient in the safe working practices of recovering heavy and light vehicles using a full range of equipment on the recovery vehicles, underlift, winch, crane, etc.
