Who we are

You'll be joining a national law firm that enjoys a strong reputation, made possible by our exceptional people - each chosen for their industry knowledge and passion for their field. It's our goal to make you feel great about working with us, and we work hard to cultivate a culture that makes it easy for you to stay with us for many years.

We work flexibly and you'll be empowered to work where you do your best work, balancing your individual needs with the need for us to engage as teams and deliver excellent client service.

  • Acting as a key contact for audit, responsible for the production of the year end audit files and liaison for the statutory audit on a day-to-day basis
  • Collaborating with the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager in preparation of the firm's annual budget, working with the Operational Directors to create and present the proposed departmental budgets
  • Forecasting spend against budget on a quarterly basis
  • Acting as a key business partner for our Operational Directors, working with them to understand their monthly results, highlighting issues they need to investigate and helping resolve any queries they have
  • Taking ownership of all payroll related postings, including ensuring all individuals are accounted for in the correct teams and locations
  • Working with the Tax Accountant to understand tax rules on benefits to ensure budget holders factor tax charges into events
  • Approaching work with an attitude of continual improvement, working with the FP&A Manager to overhaul many of the processes and reports that we produce as a Management Accounting team
  • Constantly improving the efficiency and accuracy of what we do to support ongoing business change and growth
  • Developing the Assistant Management Accountant and delegating appropriate tasks, ensuring they are fully supported to be able to complete the tasks and that the results are reviewed in detail

It is an integral part of this role that you comply with data security and all firm policies and procedures.

This role is right for you if:
  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (ideally first time passes)

  • Desire to take responsibility and personal ownership for all elements of the finances
  • A real willingness to roll up sleeves and get into the nitty gritty of a task
  • A self-starter; able to operate using high level of autonomy
