Job Description

Veterinary Surgeon – A Role with Flexibility, Support & a Bright Future!

Are you looking for a part-time role where you’re valued, supported, and truly enjoy coming to work? Want to be part of a friendly, independent practice that puts people and pets before profit? If so, we’d love to welcome you to our team!

We’re a well-established, two-branch practice with a family-centred ethos and a strong belief in treating every pet and person as a unique individual. We’ve recently taken an exciting step by becoming an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT), meaning our team has a real say in how the practice is run. No corporate takeovers, no sales targets—just genuine, high-quality care and a positive, supportive working environment.

The Role – Designed Around You: We’re looking for an experienced veterinary surgeon to take on a part-time, sole-charge consulting role at one of our branch surgeries, with full backup from the main site. The hours are fully flexible and can be tailored to suit you, including whether you’d like to incorporate surgery into your role. The position also includes participation in our Saturday morning rota (12pm finish). If you’re looking for a role with stability, autonomy, and a fantastic team, this could be the perfect fit!

A practice that puts YOU first – With our Employee Ownership Trust, you’ll have a say in the future of the practice and benefit from tax-free profit shares.

Flexibility that fits your life – We understand that work-life balance is important, and we’re happy to create a rota that works for you.

A welcoming, friendly team – We’re a close-knit group who genuinely care about each other and our patients.

No corporate targets – We prioritise clinical freedom and patient care over numbers, allowing you to practice veterinary medicine the way it should be.

Incredible case variety – While dogs and cats make up most of our patients, we also treat rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, ferrets, reptiles, birds, and even local wildlife!

A supportive environment – Our experienced team is always happy to share knowledge, whether it’s complex cases or a friendly chat over coffee.

A Beautiful Place to Live & Work: Our practice is based in a picturesque area of East England, surrounded by stunning countryside, historic architecture, and a real sense of community. The location offers the best of both worlds—peaceful village life with easy access to vibrant nearby towns and cities.

What’s In It for You?

Salary: £55-70k pro-rata (dependent on experience)

Tax-free profit share bonuses through our EOT structure

Modern, well-equipped premises – We’ve recently expanded one of our surgeries!

Opportunities for growth – If you have a special interest, we’d love to support your development.

Our Ethos: Personalised, High-Quality Care: We believe in continuity of care, meaning our patients see the same vet each time they visit. This helps us build strong relationships with clients and their pets, making a real difference to their well-being.

Ready to Join Us? Let’s Chat! If you’re looking for a role where you’ll feel valued, have a say in the practice’s future, and be part of a truly supportive team, we’d love to hear from you!
