Your Mission:

As a Home Care Aide at CASL, you will play a crucial role in delivering direct in-home services to our assigned clients while following their Plans of Care. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, including personal care, meal preparation, housekeeping, and essential errands. In addition to providing essential support, you will observe clients' well-being and promptly report any changes to your supervisor. You'll maintain records of daily activities, ensuring we provide the highest level of care. Continuous learning is essential, and you will attend at least 12 hours of in-service training each year.

Your Impact:

  1. Provide Direct In-Home Service:
  • Perform meal planning and preparation
  • Conduct routine housekeeping tasks
  • Assist with shopping and essential errands
  • Aid in self-administered medication
  • Follow special diet plans as per the written Care Plan
  • Assist with personal care tasks (e.g., bathing, dressing, grooming)
  • Escort clients to medical facilities and essential errands
  • Observe and Report: Keep a keen eye on clients' functioning and promptly report any changes to your supervisor.
  • Maintain Records: Accurately document daily activities, observations, and hours of services provided.
  • Documentation: Provide necessary receipts and documentation for essential shopping/errands.
  • Continuous Learning: Attend a minimum of 12 hours of in-service training annually.
  • Team Player: Carry out duties as assigned by the supervisor, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Flexibility: Respond to Agency needs by performing assigned tasks, which may not fall within the standard job description.
  • Pre-Service Training: Complete 24 hours of pre-service training and obtain the training certificate.
  • Requirements

    To thrive in this role, you should have:

    Education/Experience:

    • High school diploma or GED
    • At least one year of employment in a comparable human service capacity
    • At least one year of experience in caring for a dependent child or adult family member

    Skills/Knowledge:

    • Proficiency in spoken and written Spanish (English is a plus)
    • Basic knowledge and skills in housekeeping, food preparation, and personal care
    • Familiarity with senior care
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Client-focused and committed to delivering exceptional customer service

    Physical Demands:

    • Ability to position and transfer clients weighing over 100 pounds
    • Frequent sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods
    • Occasional lifting, moving, and supporting participants or objects weighing over 25 pounds
    • Sufficient physical, visual, hearing, and learning capabilities to perform essential functions

    Environment and Scheduling:

    Irregular working hours, including weekends and holidays, from 8 AM to 8 PM in clients' homes. Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours, seven days a week, to address important client matters.
