Opportunity for a maintenance technician to join a leading business and improve equipment maintenance across two sites. Salary of up to £40,000, plus a car allowance of £3,500, 5% pension, healthcare and 25 + 8 holidays. Working days Monday to Friday.

The hiring company is a global business that has been established for more than four decades and is considered one of the leaders in the field.

As the maintenance technician, you will work across two sites, repairing equipment; detailed responsibilities include:

  1. Repair, adjust, and maintain equipment (i.e. shear balers, excavator scissors, machine handlers, machine scrap grabs, conveyors, material feeders, shovel loaders) to ensure that it functions reliably and complies with process specifications.
  2. Respond to emergencies, break-downs, malfunctions, and other operating problems and diagnose faults to minimise disruptions.
  3. Implement an established maintenance programme and maintain detailed maintenance records so that recurring problems with machinery, equipment, or parts can be identified and addressed.
  4. Conduct periodic inspections to evaluate repair requests.
  5. Oversee contractors and ensure work is carried out to the required standards.
  6. Support with planning and scheduling maintenance activities (for example, planned maintenance programmes, shut-downs, or emergency repairs).
  7. Fabrication and welding of machine components.
  8. Support with the development and implementation of repair and maintenance procedures.
  9. Slinging and carrying out lifting operations as required.
  10. Work safely and have a proactive approach to all health & safety and environmental issues.

  1. Experience working as a maintenance technician, ideally in heavy industry.
  2. Must have an NVQ Level 3 or higher.
  3. Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  4. Welding experience.
  5. Willingness to travel to Rotherham around 20% of the time.
