A Specialist Piling and Ground Engineering contractor is seeking a Senior CAD Technician to join their Design / Technical team on a multi-million pound highly prestigious project in the Midlands.

Reporting to the BIM Manager & Technical Manager, the role is responsible for producing CAD models and drawings to project standards within ProjectWise.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce all 2D and 3D design information required for any type of structure, using AutoCAD.
• Prepare RC and steelwork details as required.
• Maintain an overview of developments in CAD/BIM technologies, relevant CAD/BIM standards, and Codes of Practice.
• Comply with the Company’s Health and Safety Policy and increase own awareness of Health and Safety procedures.
• Supported by the Project BIM Manager, create new CAD documents in ProjectWise and push those documents through the project workflow.
• Support the CAD team with training and the development of junior CAD technicians.
• Work under limited supervision performing complex technical work.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have the Following Experience Qualities:

• Ability to work within a ProjectWise Common Data Environment (experience is desirable, but training can be provided).
• RC Detailing experience preferred.
• Steelwork Detailing experience preferred.
• Experience in rail design essential.
• Ideally working towards EngTech or equivalent.
• Ideally Tunnelling or similar civil structures background essential.
• AutoCAD knowledge (2D & 3D) essential.
• Microstation and/or Aecosim knowledge desirable.
