Job Description
- Preparing UK tax returns (c.15) including CIR, group relief and RDEC claims.
- Preparing UK tax notes for statutory accounts.
- Managing UK tax payments and refunds for both direct and indirect taxes.
- Managing tax requests from overseas including CORs.
- Support review of UK VAT returns.
- Preparing UK year end tax packs to provide accurate and timely submissions for year end reporting, including identification of GAAP differences.
- Support on forecasting of ETR and tax cash.
- Calculating and managing group transfer pricing calculations including true ups to support cashflow management.
- Supporting Group Tax Manager in UK tax audits (direct and indirect).
- Point of contact in UK for tax matters and advice to commercial colleagues in relation to operational matters concerning client contracts and activity.
- Support development of appropriate tax control framework in place in accordance with Group policy to meet the objectives of the Group's tax strategy.
- Management of third party relationships with tax outsourcers, advisers and auditors.
The Successful Applicant
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
- Applicants will have some experience of liaising with senior internal stakeholders. Fluency in English is important.
- Applicants should have a natural "can-do" attitude and the ability to concisely summarise complicated tax issues. Applicants are expected to have a minimum of 5 years of experience in relevant tax roles for large multinational groups.
- Strong accounting experience and understanding of local GAAP and IFRS.
- Experience of a range of tax reporting tools and tax automation for reporting or other tax activities including Excel and Alphatax.
- Proven experience in managing transfer pricing disputes and permanent establishment risks.
- Experience of VAT/GST preferred but not required.
- Ability to deal with Tax Administrations in an effective but constructive and cooperative manner to manage and protect the clients reputation as a good corporate citizen.
- Ability to deal with suppliers of tax related services to maximise service standards while managing cost.
