The Role
The On The Tools production teams work on a wide range of videos for our own social channels and those of our clients including, for instance, user-generated style content, mini-documentaries, live shows/competitions, sketches, product reviews, and product hero videos.
As Video Editor, you will collaborate with Producers and Videographers in the post-production stage to realise the brief, using your expertise to edit and deliver seamless video content for a range of social channels. All projects will be delivered to the highest standard and you will always be looking at ways to elevate our content as we want it to be head and shoulders above the rest!
You may be required to work on (and switch between) either of the following types of videos, as required to meet the needs of the business:
- Branded Content - Videos produced for our clients to be published to our communities and/or on our client’s social platforms.
- Original Content - Videos produced to maximise views on social and grow our communities
As an Editor you will:
- Understand and interpret the brief, and the production team’s requirements and specifications
- Complete detailed edit plans in the pre-production stages
- Compile and organise footage ready for edit
- Colour grading
- Process and inputting audio, including dialogue, sound effects, and music
- Use Premiere Pro to cut footage and create seamless video content, and ensure all edits are high quality
- Use After Effects to create animated graphics and text, built-in effects, typography, transitions, and alpha mattes
- Use Photoshop to edit and retouch imagery
- Basic use of illustrator
- Work across various videos at once, ensuring all are optimised for different social channels and are delivered to agreed timelines.
- Attend shoots, as and when required
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will have:
- Excellent understanding of editing video content for various social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram and YouTube
- An understanding of the video production process
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
- Past experience in a video editing role
- Past experience in Premiere Pro and After Effects
- Experience of editing and retouching images in Photoshop
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Superb organisational skills, with the ability to work across multiple work streams at once
- Interest in film/video editing, social media and production
- Be real team player, happy to be part of the team and work together to achieve success
- Be well organised, able to juggle multiple projects at once
- Is a creative thinker who can connect sight and sound, and is open to proposing new concepts
- Is enthusiastic, positive, and hard-working with an approach that no job is too small
- Holds a current valid UK driving licence with access to a vehicle for driving to and from shoots, if required
- Able to work from our Birmingham HQ
- Right to work in the UK
THE DETAIL
Salary: £27,000 pro rata per annum
Holidays: 30 days per year, plus 3 days between Christmas and New Year, 2 Wellbeing days and Bank Holidays
