This rewarding role involves supporting service users in their daily activities, promoting their independence and dignity. Ideal candidates will be caring and considerate, with a passion for helping others. The position includes varied shifts and the opportunity to engage with the community through activities like shopping and sports. Join a dedicated team focused on delivering high-quality, person-centred care that makes a real difference in people's lives.
Radis Community Care has an opportunity for a part-time Support Worker to support 3 service users in our Multi Supported Living Services in Quarmby and Slaithwaite in Huddersfield.
About the role
Our Multi Supported Living Services in Huddersfield are homes to a lady with learning disabilities. She likes to go into Huddersfield once per week to go shopping and get lunch/coffee – she has moving and handling needs and is a wheelchair user.
Also, there is a brother and sister in Huddersfield; they like to do many activities in the community, going to panto, swimming, circus, local parks. One of them has a season ticket to Huddersfield Town and will go to all weekend home games with staff. They attend day centre most days of the week.
We require caring and considerate people to support these young adults to enjoy each day to the full. Also, someone who loves football, especially Huddersfield Town AFC, will be an advantage.
The role may include manual handling, medication administration, personal care, food preparation, household tasks, supporting individuals to stay connected with family and friends, accessing the community, and attending appointments. We provide support for daily living skills and help support with socialisation.
We recognise each person as an individual and provide a unique service that is person-centred and tailored to their needs. The role is to promote the individual’s independence, choice, dignity, and respect by delivering the best standards of support.
Shifts: 20 hours per week, including days, evenings, sleeps, and alternate weekends.
Ideally, the successful person would have a qualification in health and social care (but this is not essential) or will have worked either in supported living settings and/or with individuals with learning disabilities.
At this present time, we are unable to consider sponsorship for this role.
