Head of Real Estate Finance for CRS Development Finance Commercial Mortgages and BTL Bridging Finance Residential Mortgages

Our client is looking for an experienced Underwriter to play a crucial role in assessing and managing risk across their Buy-to-Let (BTL) lending portfolio. What You’ll Be Doing:

• Loan Underwriting: Assess new BTL lending applications, ensuring adherence to risk policies and regulatory standards.
• Risk & Credit Analysis: Conduct thorough due diligence on borrower financials, valuation reports, and property portfolios.
• Decision-Making: Approve or reject applications based on sound risk assessment and policy guidelines.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with Financial Intermediaries (Brokers), Sales, and Operations teams to communicate underwriting decisions transparently.

Skills & Experience:

• 1+ years’ experience in a mandated BTL underwriting role, with a strong ability to manually underwrite loans.
• Expertise in assessing HMO, MUB, and Limited Company BTL applications.
• A strong understanding of credit risk, lending policies, and regulatory frameworks.
• Exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and independent decision-making abilities.
• A customer-centric mindset with a passion for delivering outstanding service.
• Effective communication skills to engage with internal teams and external partners.
• A proactive approach, eager to contribute to the growth and innovation of our underwriting team.
