Job description

Our client, a leading manufacturing client based north of York, are looking to recruit an Electrical Technician to join the business on a permanent basis due to business growth.

The successful candidates will be required to assemble and test Electrical / Electronic components used in sub assemblies and final build.

Candidates will ideally be electrically trained with demonstrable experience in reading Electrical Schematics, panel wiring, soldering, crimping and terminating cabling.

Hours

Week 1: Monday - Weds 07:30 - 17:30 / Thurs 07:30 - 17:30
Week 2: Tuesday - Thursday 07:30 - 17:30 / Friday 07:30 - 17:30
Any OT worked over 37 hours per week are paid at premium rates to boost earnings.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assemble electronic/electrical sub assemblies from schematic diagrams, drawings or verbal instructions and following works order instructions to ISO9001 standards.
  2. Wire and solder wiring harness and cable assemblies, PC boards, SMT, transformer assemblies, control consoles, connectors, etc.
  3. Carry out heavy-duty cable wiring, deck cable assembly, and control system outfitting.
  4. Perform limited troubleshooting and testing of assemblies.
  5. Ensure assembly/sub-assembly build times are met to maintain department efficiency target of 100%.
  6. Ensure assembly/sub assembly build times are met for major project schedule into integration dates and tooling/spares WO completion dates.
  7. Complete all necessary documentation according to the requirements, including timesheets, ECN etc.
  8. Carry out job tasks safely using good working practices.
  9. Carry out all assembly work to the required department quality standards.
Skills & Qualifications:
  1. Ideally candidates will be Time Served in an electrical discipline.
  2. 17th/18th Edition qualified (Advantageous).
  3. A good understanding of electrical/electronic systems essential.
  4. Technical competence in Low voltage AC/DC panel wiring/looming, High voltage installations, Control/Data systems.
  5. Must be able to read and interpret drawings and sketches.
