Description

Kirschbaum Law Group, LLC, a Connecticut law firm with an administrative office in Manchester, Connecticut, is seeking to hire attorneys for a remote habeas corpus trial attorney position.

You might be a good fit for this position if: you are an experienced criminal defense attorney or habeas corpus attorney; you are a new attorney who is seeking to become a criminal defense attorney; or you are an experienced attorney who is seeking either to change your area of practice or to re-enter the workforce after taking a break from practicing law.

Habeas Corpus Trial Practice. This position gives attorneys the immediate opportunity to be lead trial counsel for a full caseload of post-conviction cases for indigent inmates. Habeas corpus cases are civil proceedings, but the underlying issues are related to criminal law and criminal procedure. Habeas corpus practice provides an extraordinary opportunity for attorneys to get significant trial experience quickly, building a foundation for the attorneys to handle any type of litigation, as well as other types of cases. The firm provides extensive training and mentoring to help our attorneys develop the skills necessary to provide exceptional representation for clients.

Lead Counsel Trial Practice Training and Mentorship. The attorneys in this position are trained and mentored by Supervising Attorney Jade Saginor. Attorney Saginor has been practicing law for more than nine years, during which time she has handled many jury trials, bench trials, and other contested evidentiary hearings as lead counsel. She uses the firm's case management and trial preparation systems, which have been developed by Managing Attorney Damon Kirschbaum, Attorney Saginor, and others at the firm over the course of more than 26 years.

Admitted to the Practice of Law in Connecticut. We need attorneys who are admitted to the practice of law in Connecticut. We cannot hire attorneys who are not authorized to practice law in Connecticut.

Remote Position. The habeas corpus trial attorney position is, and always will be, a remote position. The firm has had attorneys working remotely for well over seven years. The attorneys in this position will never be required to work in an office, although they will have access to the conference room at the firm's administrative office in Manchester.

In or Near Connecticut. Although this is a remote work position, applicants must live in or near Connecticut to visit incarcerated clients in Connecticut regularly, as well as to appear in court in Connecticut regularly.

Compensation. The yearly compensation for the position is $102,000.

Benefits. The benefits include disability insurance, medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, and a 401(k) retirement plan with contributions made by the firm.

Instructions for How to Apply for the Position. Please submit a cover letter and a resume in PDF format by sending them to jobs@kirschbaumlaw.com with an explanation that you saw the job posting on this platform. Your cover letter should explain in detail why the position is appealing to you, and why you think that you would be a good fit for the position. Please do not call us, do not send us anything through the mail, and do not visit our office without being invited. Please trust that all materials submitted will be received and reviewed.
