Job description

Lead Practitioner of Maths - September 2025 - Hillingdon

An Ofsted 'Good' school in Hillingdon, W London is searching for an Outstanding Lead Practitioner of Maths to join their high-performing comprehensive school. The school is looking for an experienced Maths Teacher & Maths specialist who can complement the excellent Lead Practitioner of Economics who has been in post for several years.

Maths has seen a huge uptake across the school, including GCSE, A Level, and Vocational BTEC subjects. The Headteacher is searching for a Lead Practitioner of Maths who is eager to teach and lead students of all abilities, not just higher-ability A Level classes. That said, your already reduced timetable can be flexible to accommodate the year groups and courses you are strong in.

Highlights of the school include:

  • Large school with excellent career development (All of the SLT have been promoted from within)
  • Separated into smaller schools, adopting the small-school model to bring a sense of unity
  • Excellent behaviour, supported by brilliant TAs and Cover Supervisors
  • Ambitious, modern curriculum focused on students achieving their own individual goals, not just pursuing university as the next step
  • IB Middle Years Programme
  • Excellent Careers Lead for students, working in tandem with Maths to promote careers and pathways outside of university.
  • Inner London Payscale + Academy Bonus
  • Various wellbeing and workload measures in place
