Site Supervisor
Location: Brixworth
Pay Rate: £280 - £320 per day (Umbrella PAYE)
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the Health and Safety of yourself, the workforce and the public in accordance with SHE processes and procedures.
- Manage and administer the construction works in accordance with the contract.
- Assist with the implementation of the duties of the Principal Contractor under CDM.
- Assist with the implementation and ongoing compliance of the Construction Phase including inductions and site rules.
- Conduct prestart checks, including checking and documenting all PUWER and LOLER items, ensuring welfare is adequate and fit for purpose, and confirming the presence of spill kits.
- Assist with the implementation and ongoing compliance of all relevant Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Safe Systems of Work, and Point of Work Risk Assessment/Daily Brief documents.
- Issue various permits for activities such as hot works and digging for various contractors in accordance with processes and safe digging procedures.
- Ensure temporary works are installed in accordance with the approved design details.
- Carry out regular Health and Safety inspections, reporting all accidents, near misses, and conducting toolbox talks.
- Monitor and record progress on site, communicating any issues to the relevant site managers in terms of programme and change control in accordance with the terms of the contract.
- Maintain good record keeping in terms of manpower, plant, and materials.
- Ensure that any changes, either commercial or operational, are effectively communicated to all relevant parties, signed off, and briefed to the site team in line with the change control procedure.
- Inspect quality of work in accordance with the inspection test plan, scheme designs, and the specification.
Requirements:- SSSTS (CITB Supervisors Safety Training Scheme) or SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme).
- NRSWA Supervisor.
- 12D Lantra Traffic Management.
- Temporary Works Supervisor.
- First Aider.
- Driving licence (clean).
Skills:- Experience managing both direct employees and civil engineering contractors.
- IT literate - MS Office and order management databases.
- Excellent leadership qualities.
- Excellent communication skills with the public, clients, and employees.
- 'People skills' experience in people management and motivation of staff.
- Proven ability to instruct and direct staff.
- A good organiser, both of self and others.
- Self-motivated.
Knowledge:- Understanding and implementation of the Construction (Design Management) CDM regulations.
- Chapter 8 Traffic Signs Manual.
- Material specifications.
- Good civils, resurfacing, and structures experience.
- Good working knowledge of construction programming.
- Commercial awareness.
- Understanding of NEC4 contract.
