About the Role
The Technical Coordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting the teaching of Music, Drama, Media Art, Visual Art, and Design education within the Faculty of Education. Responsible for the oversight and maintenance of specialised facilities, equipment, and resources, the role ensures an optimal environment for both academic staff and students to engage in practical and creative learning. Working closely with educators, the Technical Coordinator provides expert guidance on the use of technical equipment, supervises studio operations, and contributes to the preparation and delivery of practical classes. Additionally, the role encompasses essential responsibilities in occupational health and safety, risk management, and resource coordination, ensuring compliance with university policies and the seamless operation of studioFive and other teaching spaces. With a combination of technical expertise, organisational acumen, and proactive problem-solving, the Technical Coordinator has a direct and meaningful impact on the quality of education and artistic practice within the faculty.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
