Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Purchasing Executive to support our procurement operations within the nutrition sector. As a Junior Purchasing Executive, you will play an integral role in the day-to-day procurement processes, ensuring smooth operations and contributing to the overall efficiency of the supply chain. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to build a career in procurement within the dynamic and fast-paced nutrition industry.

Core Responsibilities

  • Support Day-to-Day Procurement Operations:
  • Raise purchase orders (POs) and ensure timely tracking of deliveries.
  • Maintain accurate supplier databases to ensure seamless order management.
  • Import Documentation Management:
  • Manage all import paperwork, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and company procedures.
  • Maintain full records of all import documentation in accordance with the Import process.
  • Monitor inventory levels across various product lines and flag any potential shortages.
  • Assist in managing stock replenishment to avoid stockouts and ensure continuous availability.
  • Supplier Communications and Follow-Up:
  • Assist in maintaining effective communication with suppliers, ensuring timely follow-up on orders, and resolving any issues or delays.
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure conformance to agreed-upon delivery schedules and quality standards.
  • Procurement Records and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and assist with reporting to support business decision-making.
  • Provide insights into procurement performance, stock levels, and any discrepancies or issues.
  • Supplier Research and Tender Support:
  • Research potential new suppliers within the nutrition sector and assist in evaluating suppliers for suitability.
  • Support tender processes by gathering information, obtaining quotes, and coordinating with internal teams.
  • Liaison with Supply Chain (SC):
  • Coordinate with the supply chain team to ensure visibility on delivery schedules and any delays to plans.
  • Ensure timely communication regarding any potential supply chain disruptions, providing alternative solutions when necessary.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and process compliance.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to liaise with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); familiarity with procurement or supply chain management software is a plus.
  • An interest in the nutrition sector, with a willingness to learn and grow in procurement operations.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience or internship in procurement or supply chain management is advantageous but not essential.
