Our client, a well-established and growing business in Gateshead, is expanding their team and seeking a dynamic and proactive professional to join them on a 12-month fixed-term contract, with potential for extension thereafter.

- Salary: £24,000 - £27,000, depending on experience
- Quarterly bonus scheme based on company performance

- Hours: 36-hour workweek with flexible start and finish times:
- Monday to Thursday (8:20 AM - 4:30 PM)
- Friday (8:20 AM - 1:30 PM) - early finish on Fridays!

Your Role as an Account Manager
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a people-focused, fast-paced environment and enjoys building strong, long-term relationships. The Business Development team brings in new clients, and your role is to nurture and manage those clients thereafter - handling their day-to-day accounts, checking in with customers, and ensuring they receive outstanding service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage customer enquiries from initial contact to quotation, ensuring efficient follow-up
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts
- Handle communications promptly and professionally
- Identify and qualify areas for growth within accounts
- Support regional marketing initiatives
- Manage the centralised inbox to ensure quick response times
- Provide outstanding customer service via phone and email
- Escalate technical support enquiries via CRM systems
- Oversee after-sales servicing and repairs
- Prepare monthly reports
- Monitor pricing and discount strategies to align with business goals
- General administration duties
What We're Looking For:
- Experience in Account Management, Customer Service, Sales Administration, or Sales Order Processing
- Proactive and results-driven with a self-starter mindset
- Excellent communication skills via phone and email
- Strong problem-solving skills with a customer-focused approach
- Good IT proficiency - Office 365 and CRM experience is a plus
- A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment
- A positive, "can-do" attitude and eagerness to take on new challenges
