Job Description

Reporting to the Development Team Manager, the Developer is responsible for building and delivering high-quality applications and/or systems and services to the identified architecture that exceed customer or business stakeholder expectations.

The Developer will be a subject matter expert for technical solutions and business processes in their area of responsibility.

The Developer will also lead selected projects or activities, as required, and will collaborate with other disciplines and teams within and outside of IT to ensure consistency, quality, and successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop, deliver, maintain, and implement high-quality technical solutions which may require configuration and/or maintenance of third-party applications and/or the timely provision of accurate data and/or reports.
  2. Ensure successful delivery through proactive quality review and stakeholder engagement to derive tangible action where required.
  3. Possess and apply a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of software development to the completion of difficult assignments.
  4. Participate fully in all phases of the project lifecycle including technical analysis, detailed design, coding/configuration, and delivery, as relevant.
  5. Analyse, define, document and/or review technical requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems and/or services, internal and external checks and controls, and outputs.
  6. Analyse business processes and identify opportunities to improve and align with strategic direction.
  7. Produce relevant documentation to describe logic, coding/configuration, testing and changes where applicable.
  8. Undertake research on best practice guidelines and continuously strive to make improvements to the existing applications and/or systems, services, and processes.
  9. Seek out and act upon feedback received and provide quality feedback to other team members to aid their personal development.
  10. Where required, assist in educating others (within and outside of IT) regarding the impacts of planned deliveries and/or in the use of relevant tools.
  11. Ensure all development is completed to the required quality standards, identify opportunities for continuous improvement of development processes, and pro-actively transfer knowledge amongst team members.
  12. Keep up to date with relevant technology areas and encourage others to do likewise.
