Structural Engineer
£35k - £45k
Wigan, Lancashire.

An independent Civil, Structural and Geo Consultancy based in Wigan is currently looking for a Structural Engineer to join their team of around 15 to work on a host of projects in the Residential, Commercial, and Industrial sectors.

You will be joining a close-knit, local team working on local projects, specifically on superstructures (up to around 5-7 storey buildings) around the North West of England. You will have good all-round experience of Structural Design across a range of materials, dilapidation reports, and surveys as well as retaining walls.

Ideally, you will meet the following criteria:

• At least 5 years' experience of working in a busy general engineering office looking after a broad range of structural issues.
• Ideally chartered Senior Structural Engineer, though technician qualifications and suitable experience will certainly be considered.
• Experience with the house building and developments part of the industry.
• Living reasonably locally to Wigan.
• Experience in the design of foundations, retaining walls, steelwork, timber, masonry, and portal frame types along with other industrial and commercial buildings.
• Experience in the appraisal of existing buildings and writing reports.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Masterseries, TEDDS, and Geo5 software.
• Familiarity with the usual Office 365 elements.

The company is a small consultancy, and the work is extremely varied with multiple projects running on a daily basis, so the candidate needs to be able to keep the "plates spinning" and is used to working under a constant workload of varying types.

We are offering a salary commensurate with the level of experience that is offered. However, the position will have a salary of at least £37,500, but a greater figure is certainly available to the right person, ideally around £45,000 plus benefits including 25 days' holiday and employer contributory pension.
