Forbes Bros. Ltd. is currently looking for a full-time, permanent Pipelayer to join our team based out of Surrey BC. Specializing in shallow utility construction in the lower mainland, the FB Bullet team continues to see significant growth in the region.

The Pipelayer will be responsible for the preparation, assembly and installation of pipelines as required in accordance with project specifications and guidelines. The successful incumbent in the unionized Pipelayer role will display a strong work ethic and understanding of industry standard best practices and procedures to efficiently meet project requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Lives Forbes Bros. value of WE WORK SAFE & never compromising on safety in all aspects of our every day
• Successfully interpret, read, and understand blueprints, specifications, drawings, schedules, and costing reports
• Demonstrates proficiency in joining and aligning pipes to prepare for welding, cementing, or sealing, as per project specifications with minimum supervision
• Monitors back-fill of pipe bedding to ensure proper haunch support
• Knowledge of Quality Control requirements for job site and effectively aid the Foreman
• Strong understanding of Forbes Safe Work Practices for all common work tasks including but not limited to service box installations, trenching, and pad installations
• Mix, pour and spread materials as required
• Pave and rake asphalt as per specifications
• Other tasks and duties as assigned

What We Are Looking For:

• Previous experience in civil construction is required
• Working knowledge of laser level and locate equipment, an asset
• Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
• Valid Safety Certifications including but not limited to: Ground Disturbance, First Aid, H2S Alive, an asset
• Ability to work in field/site with travel and work hour flexibility to accommodate remote/site work schedules
• Physically fit and able to perform manual labour in varying weather conditions and environments, inclusive of heavy lifting
• Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of Pre-Access D&A testing, presenting a valid Driver's License and an acceptable drivers abstract
