Hours: Minimum of 25 per week

Job Overview

Our client is looking for a fully qualified Financial Controller to oversee their financial operations, ensuring accuracy in reporting and compliance with relevant regulations. This role is pivotal in preparing and submitting annual financial accounts for their clients, supporting strategic decision-making, and maintaining the integrity of financial information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure timely submission of annual accounts to Companies House and other regulatory bodies.
  • Provide detailed financial analysis and commentary to senior management and clients.
  • Maintain and improve financial reporting processes for efficiency and accuracy.

Compliance and Audit

  • Stay up to date with changes in financial regulations and ensure company and client compliance.
  • Oversee and support internal and external audits, addressing any issues identified.
  • Ensure adherence to UK accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team capabilities.
  • Offer guidance and financial expertise to both team members and clients.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience in financial management.
  • Proven experience in preparing and submitting annual financial accounts.
  • Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero and QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel).
  • Ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Adaptability to changing financial landscapes and business needs.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
