Graduate Mechanical Engineer

FINTEC recruit is looking for a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to work in a heavy engineering plant Maintenance Team based in Fort William, Scotland. This is a permanent position with a salary in the range of GBP25,000 - GBP35,000 plus bonus & shift allowances where applicable, plus relocation support, a contributory pension scheme, a healthcare plan, and life assurance. You will gain development and mentorship from experienced professionals in the field. Having some experience outside of academia within engineering is an advantage (not essential). Supported learning and development.

Responsibilities:

1. Supporting engineering projects (maintenance) across a heavy engineering environment, including scope writing, project planning, design work, and document collation.
2. Able to identify areas where mechanical reliability can be improved.
3. Conducting root cause analysis into failures to prevent recurrence.
4. Coordinating auditing systems ensuring compliance and ensuring all written isolation procedures are followed to control hazardous energy.

Skills and Experience required for the Graduate Mechanical Engineering role:

1. Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering.
2. CAD experience.
3. Able to write technical reports and documentation.
4. Demonstrate interest in engineering outside of academia.
5. Attention to detail.
6. Willing to undertake varied training courses required to work safely and effectively on site.
