EHS Lead (Contract Logistics)

Job description

DP World are currently recruiting for a EHS Lead (Contract Logistics) to cascade and execute the DP World HSE standards, policies and processes across the region on both existing and future sites. This role will also provide specialist regional and local advice to the sub-regional EHS specialists and site EHS specialists to ensure that the DP World Safety and Environmental requirements and standards are implemented throughout the Europe region. This role can be based anywhere in the UK or Europe but you will be expected to travel regularly across this region so willingness and ability to travel are essential.

About the role:

• Create and maintain a “safety-first” culture across the organization.
• Promote and train the safe together programme.
• Perform and manage Safety and Environmental Audits across the region.
• Monitor and drive the EHS performance at a regional level and provide direction, advice and counsel to managers, specialists and business leaders regarding EHS and related best practices;
• Facilitate and ensure execution of Continuous Improvement Safety Waves to proactively engineer safety into operational processes.
• Manage the team of EHS leads and EHS specialists who shall provide timely and expert advice and guidance to the region on EHS standards, policies, procedures and best practices.
• Provide specialist Safety and Environmental assistance to launch teams and regional QEHS team members.
• Ensure compliance with government regulations, accident insurance company regulations and company guidelines for occupational safety, accident prevention and health across Europe, through a comprehensive EHS auditing and compliance process.
• Implement and Train key Safety processes including but not limited to; hazard assessments, Safety Reporting, Compliance Auditing, Ergonomics, Equipment safety, Fire Safety, Electrical Safety, HazMat and Dangerous goods.
• Plan and monitor the requirements of ISO 45001 and/or employers' liability insurance associations.
• Communicate Best Practices for Safety and Environment throughout the region.
• Analyze Key Trends and issues raised through the GHSE reporting applications and associated corrective and preventative action planning.
• Hold all relevant levels accountable for the Safety Performance of their operations.
• Provide leadership and direction to site location’s management teams.
• Manage the Environmental & Sustainability Lead and H&S Lead including Chemical specialist.

Your Key Skills:

• Ideally degree educated in a Safety or EHS discipline although relevant work experience would be duly considered.
• Professional Qualification in Safety eg NEBOSH or IOSH (ESSENTIAL).
• Professional Qualification in Environmental Management.
• Experience in environment for Handling and Storage of hazardous Goods (desirable).
• Fire Safety Qualification (desirable).
• ISO certifications and Internal / External Auditor Experience.
• Strong experience in managing safety and environmental programmes in a regional European role (Essential).
• Implementation experience of ISO 9001, 45001, ISO 14001 & ISO 50001 maintenance Experience with the occupational safety standards.
• Experience in the Logistics/Chemical industry highly advantageous.
• Exposure with Construction Design.
• Experience in leading multicultural environment within different regions.
