Job description

Job Title: Site Engineer
Location: Gateshead, North East
Hours: 37.5 per week
Salary: Competitive, based on experience

Division Leadership:

The earthworks and ground remediation division is led by a skilled team with significant experience in civil engineering. The company promotes a stable, family-oriented culture, ensuring long-term career progression for Site Engineers and other team members.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Managing and overseeing site operations, ensuring full compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  2. Coordinating with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth and efficient site operations.
  3. Supervising construction progress, ensuring that the work meets project specifications, schedules, and client requirements.
  4. Performing site inspections, surveys, and quality checks to verify that construction aligns with engineering designs and regulatory standards.
  5. Preparing and maintaining detailed site reports, including daily progress updates, quality control logs, and safety documentation.
  6. Assisting in the preparation of project plans, method statements, and risk assessments.
  7. Overseeing the proper delivery and management of materials and equipment on site.
  8. Resolving technical challenges that arise during construction, working closely with the project management team.
  9. Communicating effectively with clients, stakeholders, and other project team members to provide updates and ensure seamless project delivery.
  10. Ensuring strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout all stages of the project.

Requirements:
  1. A minimum of 1 years' experience as a Site Engineer in civil engineering, preferably within earthworks, ground remediation, any discipline is encouraged to apply.
  2. A solid understanding of construction methods, engineering principles, and site management processes.
  3. Experience with construction contracts, project management, and tendering procedures.
  4. Proficiency with site monitoring tools, engineering software, and technical drawings.
  5. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with excellent communication skills.
  6. The ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize effectively on-site.
  7. Full UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK.
