Job description

Come and join us as a Driver and Warehouse Assistant on a flexible hours basis to help us grow, deliver sales, and exceed customer expectations. You will be contracted to 16 hours a week, but you will be flexible to work a weekly pattern of up to 37.5 hours a week to cover peak trading hours, holidays, and meet business needs.

As a Driver and Warehouse Assistant, you’ll be committed to delivering an outstanding level of service. You’ll be professional, driven, and enthusiastic. The role reports into the branch management team and will provide the highest level of service to internal and external customers, delivering products against tight deadlines. This role will also assist in the warehouse and may involve customer-facing duties within the branch, serving on the trade counter and dealing with customers over the telephone to ensure we provide the best service and maximize sales at every opportunity. You’ll promote and embrace our inclusive team environment and we’re sure you’ll have some fun along the way!

Please note, this role requires you to have the appropriate driving licence with previous experience as a driver.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Health and safety of yourself and your vehicle
• Maintenance and condition of your vehicle
• Reporting any issues or incidents to your line manager
• Complying with transport compliance law and regulations
• Dealing with stock and deliveries
• Supporting the Branch Manager and Assistant Branch Manager with achieving and exceeding sales targets at optimum margins
• Ensuring we maintain high standards, creating and maintaining a loyal customer base, and providing first-class service
• Assisting with general duties within the branch such as serving customers on the trade counter and telesales
• Maintaining housekeeping standards both on the trade counter and in the warehouse

Along with a clean driving licence, you will ideally have previous warehouse and driving experience. Knowledge of the products associated with our industry would be an advantage. You'll be flexible with working hours and able to work up to 37.5 hours a week. You’ll thrive on providing the best customer service and being a huge support to your branch colleagues.
