Job description

On the Edge is a London-based charity on a mission to bring nature back into our everyday lives. We do this using pop culture entertainment to take nature to audiences in formats they recognise - whether that’s in their social media feeds, through mobile games, in film and TV or podcasts. Our mission is to disrupt the narrative around nature - making it accessible and exciting for people who would normally ignore it or are disconnected from it. We also have a team of in-house experts working to conserve nature’s underdogs and make sure our stories have impact.

Role Overview:

This role is perfect for someone who has been at an agency working in digital marketing or social paid media campaigns and is looking to take a step into a broader digital brand marketing role. The Digital Marketing Assistant will help amplify and disseminate our digital content. Ideal for someone who thrives on owning workstreams and seeing projects through to completion—whether it’s managing editorial updates on our website, creating engaging CRM mailers, or strategizing how to use paid media to reach our target audience.

You will know your way around digital dashboards and understand which insights and data points will help your colleagues optimise the content output. As a small organisation of around 15 people, collaboration is key.

Key Responsibilities:
Social Media
  1. Content Scheduling: Upload and schedule content across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and WeAre8.
  2. Community Management: Assisting the social producer to respond to questions and comments, collaborating with the Natural History team to ensure accuracy.
  3. Paid Media: Ensuring the paid media campaigns are in line with set KPIs and target audiences.
  4. Reporting: Produce ad-hoc and monthly social media reports to help inform future content.
  5. Social Listening: Use available tools to bring to ideation sessions for future content creation.
Website
  1. Content Management: Manage the CMS (prior experience with Contentful CMS is a bonus) to create and update landing pages for campaigns and content.
  2. Editorial Calendar: Collaborate with the copywriter to upload articles and editorial features for the EDGE Zine, optimizing content for social media channels.
  3. Google Search Ads: Set up and manage campaigns using the Google Ads grant.
  4. Website Reporting: Generate monthly KPI reports with insights and optimization recommendations.
Brand Communications Channels
  1. Newsletter and LinkedIn: Collaborate with the Director of Communications to manage the weekly newsletter and LinkedIn posting schedule.
Essential Skills and Experience:
  1. Engaged in pop culture
  2. Proactive, self-motivated, with an interest in data
  3. Experience with paid media and paid search campaigns, including forecasting and reporting
  4. A strong understanding of how social media platforms function and operate
  5. Experience using a content management system (CMS) to maintain and update websites; familiarity with Contentful CMS is a plus
  6. Minimum 2 years experience at a Digital Marketing Agency or Client Side
