Red Sky Personnel is recruiting on behalf of a well-established construction company in Harrow, seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with strong analytical skills and attention to detail to contribute to a growing business in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing financial statements and reports
• Perform bank, credit card, and other financial account reconciliations
• Support month-end and year-end close processes
• Maintain accurate financial records
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
• Process accounts payable and receivable transactions
• Prepare and submit VAT returns
• Assist with audit schedules and liaise with auditors
• Provide support for ad-hoc financial projects and analysis

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (beneficial but not essential)
• Part-qualified, studying, or qualified by experience
• Experience in an accounting role
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
