Job overview

We are seeking a Band 5 development post into a band 6 static Children’s Physiotherapist for a full time post. This will be to work within Specialist Children’s Services in HDFT, with the base in Harrogate or Hambleton & Richmondshire locality. However, you will be expected to help cover across at both bases.

You will be part of Specialist Children’s Services which covers Harrogate & Rural and Hambleton & Richmondshire localities. We are a progressive and supportive inter-professional team of nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, community paediatricians and a clinical psychologist and the autism assessment service. You will be required to have relevant experience and evidence of post graduate continuing professional development.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a physiotherapist with NHS experience and demonstrable skill pertaining to meeting the complex physiotherapy needs of children and young people, but will have supervision and Senior support. The role extends to holding a clinical caseload and providing assessment, intervention planning, delivery and evaluating therapy for children and young people in clinic, school, home and respite care settings. You will work alongside colleagues and clinical lead physiotherapists to deliver high quality evidenced-based interventions and support the ongoing development of the service. The post will initially be a band 5, but with competencies to pass, before progressing you into a Band 6, which will be expected to take one year or more.

Alongside this community and outpatient role, our Children's Physiotherapy team also work on the acute paediatric wards - Woodlands Ward and Special Care Baby Unit within Harrogate District Hospital.

The role requires communication with colleagues within Specialist Children’s Services (identifying as ‘one team’ across the two localities), the organisation and with partner agencies. This post is based at the Child Development Centre within Harrogate District Hospital.
