We are seeking a diligent and customer-focused Revenues Officer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date Council Tax and Business Rates records, as well as handling inquiries from the public, colleagues, and external organisations.
About the role
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date Council Tax and Business Rates records, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
- Handle inquiries from the public, colleagues, and external organisations promptly and professionally, providing accurate advice and guidance.
- Investigate and resolve queries related to Council Tax and Business Rates, delving deeper to find accurate and complete information.
- Liaise with relevant authorities and agencies to ensure accurate billing and collection of Council Tax and Business Rates.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews to identify and rectify any discrepancies or errors in Council Tax and Business Rates records.
- Stay updated with changes in legislation and regulations pertaining to Council Tax and Business Rates, ensuring accurate advice and compliance.
You will need
- GCSEs (5 A-Cs or equivalent, including Maths and English)
- High attention to detail and ability to delve deeper to find the answers
- Customer focused approach
- Knowledge of Council Tax and/or Business Rates legislation is desirable but not essential
Special conditions
- Baseline Personnel Security Standard check (BPSS)
