Salary: £16,282.50 - £17,282.50 (Pro-rata £83.50 - £90 per day)

Autism Learning Mentor – Primary | Oxford – Rewarding SEN Role!

We’re looking for a caring and proactive Autism Learning Mentor – Primary to support a child 1:1 with Global Development Delay (GDD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a primary school in Oxford.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s life while gaining hands-on experience in SEN education. If you have a Level 3 Childcare qualification or Level 3 Teaching Assistant certification, it’s a bonus!

Your Role as an Autism Learning Mentor – Primary in Oxford
  1. Provide 1:1 tailored support to a child with ASD & GDD in a structured primary classroom
  2. Help develop communication, social, and independence skills
  3. Use visual aids, sensory tools, and structured routines to aid learning
  4. Work closely with the teacher & SENCO to implement EHCP (Education, Health & Care Plan) strategies
  5. Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation
Who We’re Looking For
  1. Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Mentor, or Support Worker (preferred but not essential)
  2. Passion for supporting children with Autism & SEN
  3. Patient, compassionate & able to build trust with a child 1:1
