Assurance Assistant Manager

Our Audit and Assurance team is seeking an Assurance Assistant Manager. This role will be instrumental in supporting the leadership team in providing high-quality business advice and assurance services. Acting as the primary contact for clients, you will manage a full portfolio, using your knowledge and skills to add value to their service. You will be responsible for the overall quality of individual assignments and delivery of a complete product with due regard to budget. This will require completion of audit planning, fieldwork, and collaboration with your team. You will work with other members of your service line to scope client requirements and ensure that assignments are carried out in a timely manner and within specified budgets.

Your responsibilities

Here's a bit more on what you can expect to be doing day-to-day:

  • Support the assurance manager to develop team members and conduct performance reviews; by setting objectives and conducting performance reviews.
  • Assistant, and lead a client portfolio, using your knowledge and skills to add essential value to the offering.
  • Responsibility for overall quality of individual client assignments and production of a complete product with due regard to budget. This will require direct completion of audit planning, fieldwork, and collaboration with your team.
  • Work with other members of your service line to scope out client requirements and ensure that assignments are carried out in a timely manner and within specified budget.
  • Proactively liaise with relevant members of the leadership team (e.g., directors) on individual clients, ensuring that they are well informed and receive regular updates on progress, along with identifying and escalating any issues as necessary.
  • Build a network of potential new clients to identify new business opportunities (e.g. active participation within funnels or similar marketing initiatives), creating a vibrant pipeline of new opportunities.
  • Actively participate in pitching for new business opportunities and developing tender documents.

About you

We think you’ll need the following experience and qualifications to succeed in the role:

  • You will be AAT, ACA, or ACCA fully qualified.
  • Must have External Audit expertise
  • Developing advisory skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Specialisation in a sector and developed key industry knowledge
  • Proactive in management of fees targets to ensure your manager meets their overall target.
  • Confidence in communication with clients
  • Effective management of client lock up - budgets/billing/debtors.
  • Time management of work in progress
  • Accuracy of work and effectiveness.
  • A minimum of 3 years UK Audit experience
  • Team leadership
