Overview

Friendship Public Charter School operates a network of college-preparatory public charter schools, serving students from preschool through 12th grade. Our mission is to provide a world-class education that equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary for academic achievement and success beyond high school.

Please note that the range for the role is $65k - $91k.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide and supervise in a fair and consistent manner an effective discipline system with high standards, consistent with the philosophy, values, and mission of the school and district, in accordance with due process and other laws and regulations.
  2. Support Academic Advisors in the implementation of the school-wide plan for creating a positive culture of behavior in the school.
  3. Team with teachers, staff, social worker, parent coordinator, and curriculum and professional development coordinator in the development and implementation of the school-wide plan for creating a positive culture.
  4. Notify appropriate personnel and agencies immediately, and follow established procedures when there is evidence of substance abuse, child abuse, child neglect, severe medical or social conditions, potential suicide, or individuals appearing to be under the influence of alcohol, controlled substances, or anabolic steroids.
  5. Establish a professional rapport with students and staff. Display the highest ethical and professional behavior and standards when working with students, parents, school personnel, and agencies associated with the school.
  6. Support the development of a safe, orderly environment that encourages students to take responsibility for behavior and creates high morale among staff and students.
  7. Maintain positive, cooperative, and mutually supportive relationships with the central administration, parents, and representatives of resource agencies within the community.
Qualifications
  1. Experience in the role preferred.
  2. Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Education, Youth Development, Social Work, or related discipline. (Dean 2)
  3. Master's Degree and Teaching experience required (Dean 1).
  4. Experience working with school-age children.
  5. Administrative and/or supervisory experience working in a school or educational setting.
  6. Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills and the ability to motivate people.
  7. Strong interpersonal skills, able to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community.
  8. Experience with Student-based data tracking technologies.
